Audio Digitization and Collection Assistance

The Federation of Newfoundland Indians and Memorial University of Newfoundland will hire 2-3 students to digitize a collection of oral history interviews, update the database in which they are catalogued, and prepare the collection for archiving.

Applicants should be self-motivated and detail-oriented, and be able to work independently in an efficient manner. While training will be provided to successful applicants, experience in data entry, the use of Access database software, and the use of audio digitization software (such as Audacity) would be an asset. Applicants should be familiar with the Windows operating system and have excellent typing skills (with an emphasis on accuracy). Students with interests in folklore and/or oral history and students with knowledge of Mi’kmaw culture are strongly encouraged to apply.

Number of Positions: 2-3
Rate of Pay: $10/hour
Hours per Week: 35
Duration: 8 weeks
